“Communities and countries and ultimately the world are only as strong as the health of their women.”
— Michelle Obama
Every woman, or person assigned female at birth, will need to see a gynaecologist at some point during their life. My goal is to make that experience as gentle, comfortable and respectful as possible.
From troubling periods, to urinary incontinence and sexual dysfunction, no topic is out of bounds. I will listen to you and your concerns and offer support and treatment tailored specifically to you.
Sometime your treatment might require lifestyle changes, sometimes it might be medication, and sometimes a surgery might be the right treatment option for you. Whatever it is you need, you can be confident that Dr Mel has the skills and experience to provide you expert care with compassion and dignity.
Our Services
What if I need surgery?
Dr Melissa Acreman provides surgical services at Sunshine Coast University Private Hospital, Sunshine Coast Day Surgery and occasionally at Buderim Private Hospital.
Dr Mel has advanced skills in hysteroscopy, laparoscopy and pelvic organ prolapse repair and can provide you with the surgical expertise you need to manage your condition. Her anaesthetist, Dr Ryan Devlin, will ensure your comfort during and after the procedure and provide you with a personalised pain management plan if required.
If surgery is part of your treatment plan, Dr Mel will be sure to explain the ins and outs of your procedure and have you feeling confident and prepared before your operation. Some operations are performed as a day surgery case, meaning you get to go home the same day. Others may require an overnight stay. Dr Mel will be there for your before, during and after your surgery to ensure you get the best care and have the smoothest recovery.
